Only a couple days ago, the animal community on Facebook was in an uproar over three pets who were being neglected. Chloe, Bagel, and Toby were in terrible condition and were in dire need of help. Well, Road to Home Rescue partnered up with Pets 4 Luv and now these three babies are safe and under our care!
All three of these babies were picked up Saturday morning and immediately brought to the vet to assess the severity of their conditions. Chloe and Bagel are both suffering from severe skin and ear infections, the skin infections so severe and left untreated for so long that the skin on these poor dogs' bodies has actually hardened. They are extremely malnourished and suffering from muscle atrophy. Somehow, despite all of the pain they must be in, they are still loving and affectionate, proving the unconditional love of our four-legged friends.
Sweet Toby is suffering from some paralysis in his hindquarters, and is currently undergoing all of the necessary tests in order to identify the cause. Full bloodwork results will be back soon, so we will have an update on the conditions of all three of these poor animals.
Two of the amazing vets that we work with have generously donated some medical services for these pets. Unfortunately, we have no idea what future medical costs will arise, and we really need help to make sure we can provide for Bagel, Chloe, and Toby.
These pictures do little to show how severe the condition of these animals truly is. Bagel, Chloe, and Toby were suffering in silence while their owners watched on and did absolutely nothing to help them. Now, they are safe, but they are certainly not out of the woods, yet! It takes a village to rescue these animals, and we cannot continue to do this work without the support of the community.
When we reached out to fellow rescuers at Pets 4 Luv, there was not a moment's hesitation about teaming up to help save these animals. All three will be housed at Pets 4 Luv while they recover from years of neglect, and, when they are healthy and ready, they will move on to wonderful forever homes, with people who will care about them like they always deserved to be cared about.
We want to thank Debbie Davidson for posting and advocating for these poor souls. Without your posts, we would have never seen the conditions these poor animals were living in, and we would not have been able to get involved and bring them to safety. We also want to thank Eddie Stepinski for stepping up on Saturday and being there to help us save these precious lives.
Please keep up with our Facebook page, as we will be posting more updates as we receive them. At this moment, we don't know what future costs will be, but we will adjust as we receive more information. Please consider donating to their care, so that we can continue our mission to help them, and to help others. It takes a village, and we could not do this without each and every one of our amazing supporters, allies, and friends.
